“ My spouse and I are sharing a large mixed jerk chicken dinner and large curry chicken. Not only is it delicious, there's definitely enough for lunch for both of us tomorrow, and we have HEALTHY appetites. Tastes like home cooking made with lots of experience, time, and love. That means deep complex flavors bone IN. The spice level is just right. I'd say it's at a taco bell "hot" sauce packet level. They've made a regular out of my for sure. Can't wait to go back! “ I usually wait until visiting new local places twice before reviewing, but esp since our late lunch was met with zero crowd (which we initially took as a bad sign) and since my eyebrows haven't sweated this much since we were last in Jamaica, I'm letting' her fly now. The bottom line is that the jerk does seem a touch expensive, but even lunch is probly enuf for a 2nd meal later! So, ask the counter attendant to pull the covers off the lids of what they have there out front and drink in the aromas (and a taster if the line is light) and then consider having them grill you up some of the authentic jerk In the kitchen with what sure tastes like the same scotch bonnet pepper-based marinade/sauce I remember from the last time we were actually in Jamaica. And no, my eyebrows do NOT normally sweat when I eat spicy food! Given it was slow, we chatted up the gracious and friendly counter lady and sampled the curry and meat stew, both were rich in slow-cooked flavor. We also learned that some of the dishes on the menu (catfish and oxtail to name two great ones) sold out so fast initially that they are now only offered on weekends, so be advised. I'd go 4.5 instead of a full 5-stars here only because the mac-n-cheese was nothing special and the meat pie was tasty, but similar to what you find in the Sam's Club freezer case. Otherwise I am ecstatic to have real Jamaican food in town! And altho they are supposedly available via all the online delivery options out there, they don't seem to have a website or IG, so check the BookFace, or call ahead as needed. ”
